Renowned employers and successful LBS graduates agree that a good command of German is essential to pursuing a career in Austria. Therefore, LBS is introducing additional German classes as of the academic year 2014-15.
Students beginning their undergraduate studies in the International Business Administration program this upcoming Spring Term may choose to pursue the German “fast track”. Starting the language from scratch, “regular track” students will attain the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), while the learning objective of the “fast track” after 5 semesters is the attainment of the B1 level. The B1 level will be assessed by the ÖSD exam (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom) at the end of the 5th semester. Exam costs are covered by LBS
During semesters 1–4 the students participate in an additional 2.5 German teaching units (2 hours) per week at the Integration Center Taborstraße (Chabad House). This corresponds to a total of 30 additional teaching units per semester! During the 5th semester, LBS and the Integration Center Taborstraße offer 20 additional teaching units.
We are confident that these measures will considerably increase the integration prospects of international LBS students into the Austrian labor market and Austrian society.
