As part of the Enterprise Resource Planning class, IML first semester students have the opportunity to obtain an SAP University Alliances certificate. This integrated course is being taught by Professor Dr. Alexander Redlein, who holds a chair at Vienna University of Technology and has been active in SAP research and education for over 20 years. Based on a solid theoretical understanding of processes within a company and of ERP systems, the students explore how an ERP system can support logistics processes. They also learn how logistical processes are linked with financial and cost accounting. As a result, this highly practice-oriented class instructs learners to use SAP to carry out the main steps in procurement and sales processes and to evaluate the integration of these steps into financial and cost accounting. Various cases are presented to increase the learning outcome. Feedback from numerous HR departments shows that employers strongly welcome the internationally recognized SAP University Alliances certificate.
